The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rainfall across multiple states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha, from August 17th to 22nd. Due to a low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal, some areas of Odisha experienced heavy rainfall on Friday. The IMD predicts that over the next two to three days, parts of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha could see heavy to very heavy rainfall.
The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) of Odisha has warned that districts such as Balasore, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj, and Bhadrak, among others, are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, which could lead to waterlogging in several low-lying areas.
