The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for isolated extremely heavy rainfall in Madhya Maharashtra on August 2nd and 3rd. This warning highlights the potential for severe weather conditions, particularly affecting major cities such as Mumbai, Nashik, Aurangabad, Mahabaleshwar, and Pune. The recent heavy rainfall has already led to significant waterlogging in these areas, causing disruptions and impacting daily life.
Mumbai, one of the worst-hit cities, has experienced severe flooding, resulting in major traffic issues. The continuous rain has caused a temperature drop of approximately 2 to 3 degrees Celsius across the state. The high humidity levels continue to be a concern despite the temperature drop. According to the latest IMD forecast, Mumbai and its suburbs are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall. However, heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms is possible today and tomorrow (August 2nd and 3rd). There is also a likelihood of heavy showers during the night or early morning over the next 24 hours. The maximum temperature in Mumbai is projected to reach 31°C, with a minimum of 26°C.
